CoH Ingame References in the Homecoming Server's City of Heroes Game found by CyberWoLfman

💡   For those who don't know, yet, put your mouse over the text with a background to it to read more information.  This was done to save you time, so you don't waste time reading stuff you don't have any interest in or already know about.

  *  The CoH ingame references AKA City of Heroes ingame references are the ones I found in the City of Heroes game primarily by paying attention and remembering things I've read about, seen in television shows and movies or, in some cases, that I read about or heard about from someone else either on the Web or in the game, itself.

  *  *  If you want to tell others about these, it's entirely up to you.  However, if you do, don't tell them exactly where something is.  Instead, give them general hints to get their interest.  It's just more fun that way, and, they'll likely remember the location better.

  *  *  *  Although it's tempting, I won't tell you about all the City of Heroes ingame references I found, or, for that matter, specific details on how to find some of the more obscure ones.

  *    Last updated on July 4th, 2025:

Decided to go ahead and post this page, since I had already told a few people about the Freakshow NPC Ohmtown's name origin.

Page Links AKA Page Sections:

Ohmtown.  His name is also the name of a city in an animated movie AKA anime movie!

Other City of Heroes pages on this site.

Ohmtown, a Freakshow character:

Ohmtown, an ally you can find in Diviner Maros' missions as well as the rogue alignment tip mission Find a cure for Johnny, after you investigate the tip called Curse of the Curious Mook and choose the rogue option!

The origin of Ohmtown's name, however, is from Rock & Rule AKA Rock and Rule AKA Rock 'n' Rule as well as Ring of Power, a 1983 animated movie, which had many rock stars doing the voices and songs for the movie, including Debbie Harry (who was the singer for the rock group Blondie), Lou Reed, Iggy Pop, Cheap Trick and Earth, Wind & Fire!

Older pages that are out of date, but, keeping them around for nostalgia:

The CoV AKA City of Villains Character Creation Help Guide.  There's far more many options now, than there was then!  It also has a picture with the list of the 11 shards that were running during the original live server days when I made the Web page.

The City of Villains and City of Heroes Winter Event.  Even more out of date, as the last update to it was in 2007!

The City of Villains and City of Heroes Samhain AKA halloween Event.  Woefully out of date as it was made during the original City of Heroes live server days, which was years ago, and the last update to it was in 2011!

  *  Why didn't I update it in 2012?  The original live server was shut down in November, 2012 and we had been told about it months before (NCsoft had terminated the Paragon Studios dev team in August, 2012), but, I didn't feel like updating it, as, like many other players, I had felt 💔heartbroken💔, 😖frustrated😖 and 🗡️betrayed🗡️.  While many other players kept playing every day, I didn't want to be in the game that often, to witness what amounted to the death throes of a place I had thought of as a kind of home.  On the last day, I logged in for the very end, to say goodbye.  Mine was one of the voices in the final minute on City of Heroes' Freedom shard AKA City of Heroes' Freedom server, where I said "good-bye forever" to a place that was a kind of home to me and to people I had known for years.

Except, it wasn't forever, was it?  The City of Heroes game came back and it was publicly announced in 2019!  Almost five years later, in January, 2024, NCSoft granted Homecoming Servers, LLC (which had technically been a rogue server for the City of Heroes game until then) an official hosting license!  Within a few days, word had gotten out . . .  That 🐦‍🔥City of Heroes was back🐦‍🔥 and was an officially-licensed City of Heroes game server and City of Heroes' Atlas Park was alive and thriving again as new players created accounts and logged in again for the first time in over a decade!

Oh.  And, sorry/not sorry if I made anyone who read that cry if they were happy tears.😂

  Contacting me in-game:

Send a global in-game e-mail to @CyberWoLfman (and an in-game tell, if you want, using "/t @CyberWolfman, What you want to say here" (without the quotes) although there's no guarantee I'll see the latter, but, it's a fast way to see if I'm on).  Be warned, though, if you're a jerk, I'll put you on ignore (if I haven't, already, which is my primary way of dealing with trolls and griefers), which means that none of the characters you created or will create on that account can ever contact me again.
