DEITIES LIST

Goddesses and gods from different places and times.  Elder gods, old gods, or whatever you want to call them are also included for your perusal.

Yes, I get bored easy.  Of course, if you've been to some of my other pages, you've probably noticed that already.  ;-)

Please feel free to choose one, or more, or if you prefer you can always try eschatological pantheistic multiple-ego solipsism.  ;-)  I sometimes think that 'reality' is just a shared delusion.  Kinda like the majority accepted version is the one that most people are experiencing as reality.

If you need a good laugh, you can memorize several (or all of these for even greater effect) and the next time someone says "Oh, god" you can ask which one they mean and recite the list.  ;-)

For the record, and because there are many who seem to have an odd habit of asking me what my religious beliefs are; I don't know if there even is an afterlife, what happens when I'm released from this 'mortal coil', or who it is that will decide what is to happen to my eternal soul, if I may be so bold as to think that I am indeed in possession of one.  I just do the best I can, learn everything I'm allowed to that seems interesting to me, try to help those who need it if I'm able, and sometimes to pass along info that I learn to others if I can be fairly certain it won't be used to hurt people, have fun and enjoy life while breath remains in my body.

What most people don't seem to realize is that not everyone worships the same way, or even the same deities.  Just because one religion is in the majority, it doesn't necessarily mean that they are right.  If the majority was always right, does that make lynch mobs an acceptable activity for society, or the witch burnings that resulted in millions of people being tortured and killed?  Think there was a cool part in the book that Robert A. Heinlin wrote called "Stranger in a Strange Land" (he also wrote a book called "Starship Troopers" that they later made a movie out of) where one of the characters (Jubal Harshaw, I believe) was saying something along the lines of "For all we know, all the main religions could be utterly wrong, and some minor deity from the bushlands of Africa could be the big cheese in the afterlife!"  Heck, maybe we get re-incarnated and come back again because our souls still 'need something'?

The point is, I have no proof that there's anything to all this life after death talk.  Nor will I push my beliefs onto others, insisting that they are right, and everyone else is wrong.  You should be free to believe what you want to, and that should also be a personal choice in your life, and respected.  If you have no religious freedom where you are living, move!  A lot of people came to America to escape religious persecution, but it seems to be starting all over again here.  *sigh*  Will humans ever change?
